Colombia 4.0 2017, the great digital creative industries summit arrives to Bogotá.

From the 20th to the 23rd of September, Corferias will be the epicenter of innovation, technology and creativity. It will bring together more than 200 national and international exponents of video games, animation, media, web and mobile development, music, entrepreneurship, cybersecurity, advertising and monetization. In addition, there will be great activities such as the Colombian version of Mundo Hacker Day and the exhibition of Björk Digital.


In its seventh version, Colombia 4.0, the great summit of digital creative industries of the country, an event developed by the Ministry of Information Communication Technologies (MinTIC), will congregate for three and a half days the main national and international experts of the sector, investors, the academia, industry entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs.


More than 200 lecturers will be in charge of updating and training attendees in the latest trends in video games, animation, media, web and mobile development, music, cybersecurity, entrepreneurship, advertising and monetization.


"Colombia 4.0 is a space of interaction, exploration and experimentation where creativity is the protagonist. And not for less, digital transformation impacts all sectors of the economy and our creative industries are increasingly strengthened. From the Ministry of ICT we bet on the national creative talent and this event will allow all people to update and be close to the best exponents of the industry as Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari, " said ICT Minister David Luna.


As a novelty for this year, Mundo Hacker Day will be developed, the Colombian version of this successful event that takes place every year in Spain. It brings together international experts in cybersecurity and professional hackers who will share news with attendees. There will also be a space for Hacker Girls, who will take on the challenge 'Capture the password'.

The afternoons in Colombia 4.0 will be enlivened by national bands, which during three days will be presented within the framework of the event. MinTIC will support five of these groups to participate in an art and music festival in Austin, Texas, next year.

The main closing event is Björk Digital, the Icelandic singer’s virtual reality exhibition, which will be open to the public in Bogota until the 8th of October. It is a 90-minute experience that combines music with other forms of art and ICT. It has been presented in Iceland, London (United Kingdom), Sydney (Australia), Tokyo (Japan), Montreal (Canada), New York (USA) and Mexico City (Mexico).


Some of the guests to Colombia 4.0 include Joseph Kim of Sega; Randy GreenBack of Gun Media; Mara MacMahon of Pixar; Morgan Jones of Iloura and composition leader of the chapter of 'War of the bastards' of Games of Thrones; Kevin Dart, of Chromosfere; Antonio Ramos and Enrique Serrano, from Mundo Hacker from Spain; José Luis Gómez, of Prisa News; Alicia Zertuche, from South by Southwest; Sean Bohrman, of Burger Records, and Mariana Costa, co-founder of Laboratorio, among others.


The media track will include Robert Mahoney, Deputy Executive Director of the Committee for the Protection of Journalists (CPJ), who will speak about the defense of freedom of the press.


In addition and as a special gift, all those who go to Colombia 4.0 can attend the Hermoso Ruido Festival, which is held in parallel in Bogota, just by presenting the event accreditation.


The registration is totally free and can be done on the website www.col40.co, there you will also find all the information corresponding to the agenda, conferences and the different activities. To date, more than 20,000 people have been registered. For those outside the country or in other cities, they will be able to connect through the live signal.
