Juan Pablo Cordoba Garces is an economist from Los Andes University and holds a Master's degree and Ph.D. in Economics from Pennsylvania University.

Throughout his professional career, he has worked for the Inter-American Development Bank, the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit of Colombia, the International Monetary Fund, and the National Guarantees Fund (FOGAFIN). Currently, he serves as the President of The Colombian Securities Exchange (BVC S.A.)
