Santiago Bilinkis
In the business world, he co-founded and directed Officenet, the largest office supplies company in Argentina and Brazil. He was also the founder of several other companies and actively participates in different civil society organizations. He is the author of the blog Riesgo y Recompensa (Risk and Reward), one of the most widely read authors on entrepreneurship in the Spanish language. He published two books, Pasaje al Futuro (Passage to the Future) (2014) and Guía para Sobrevivir al Presente (Guide to Survive the Present) (2019).
Passionate about science and technology, he was selected in 2010 to attend Singularity University at a NASA headquarters in Silicon Valley, where he had the opportunity to learn from the world's leading scientists about the state of the art in disciplines such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Biotechnology, Neuroscience, and Nanotechnology.
Currently, he is dedicated to scientific dissemination, through conferences and presentations; writing for graphic media and also, a column in "Basta de todo" (Enough of everything), one of the most listened to radio programs in Argentina. In 2013 he was part of the Discovery Channel documentary "2111", along with figures such as Ray Kurzweil, James Canton, and Aubrey de Gray. He was recently indicated as "Outstanding Personality in the field of Science and Technology" by the City of Buenos Aires.
Santiago is an economist, graduated with a Gold Medal from the University of San Andrés. In recent years, he has made presentations at numerous universities, including the MIT Sloan School of Management and Harvard Business School, as well as different companies and public organizations.
In March 2018, Bilinkis was awarded the honorable mention "Senador Domingo Faustino Sarmiento"(Senator Domingo Faustino Sarmiento), the highest award given by the National Senate. It is given to honor people and entities from the cultural, sports, professional and academic fields; in recognition of their entrepreneurial work destined to inspire, accompany and advise thousands of people to carry out their productive projects and generate employment. That same year he won the Konex Award in the Innovative Entrepreneurs category.
